After the demise of the First Pentagra Aprazhury and the emergence of The Burned Man, there was a lull of several hundred years. Shadowy beings multiplied in the dark crevices of the far continent and the Burned Man traveled the world. His name or visage became synonymous with evil acts of the darkest sort, and tragedy and catastrophe followed his footfall. Alas, these wanderings and evils were remote, and singular events, connected only through the passages of many generations and the unraveling of a pattern of woe.
Thus, in a year most now believed to have been The Year of Warm Rain in the reckoning of old Ordrar, three new Pentagra declared themselves openly. They were Hambris-Ibor, Imesh, and Louporis. Their Avatars, Evalia Shun, Lounar, and Im created the first council of legions in an effort to rid the world of the Anathema that certainly would follow in their wake.
Years of organizing, and the leading of men would follow. Wars and rumors of wars. High Empires and low defeats. These were the grand years of the New Gods. The middle century. Others would come, some great and others modest. By the end of the century the three grand Avatar were divided. Evalia Shun chose to hunt evil alone and in darkness, not wishing to be a spectacle for humankind. Im was enamored with the ways of magic and became aloof to the world around him. Lounar decreed himself the Emperor and only savior of the world.
In his pride and arrogance he challenged the forces of chaos to a final battle on the plains of Emiloon upon Zeith. There he and his Titan Rhino were defeated and Zeith was slowly lost to the legions of chaos in what became known as The First Flow of Chaos as the continent was consumed over the next few generations. No human has touched those shores in at least two centuries.
For a time thereafter the dark was contained in Zeith by the seas themselves and vigilance of the remaining gods. The age was known as The First Ebb. One hundred years to the day after his death, Lounar willed himself reborn and returned as Emperor Lounar II. This feet of pure pride created a second anathema of his vast god, more virulent and alien than the first, and further swelled the ranks of chaos of which Lounar claims staunch enmity.
The march of years has seen this dance continue. Chaos slowly spills forth to far shores and retracts. But the borders ever encroach slowly upon the world. Upward the horror climbs from the deepest ocean crevasse, the dimmest cave, and darkest continents. And with each wave, the shoreline erodes. Most scholars figure the world to be nearing the end of the sixth ebb.
Today the most well known of the Pentagra are The Thirteen. The Titans and Avatars of this group are the most in league with one another in the fight against the chaos that their sisters the Anathema spawn. Lounars pride and single minded war have brought a degree of scorn from the others and the power dynamics of the Avatars are always in flux. While the highest plateaus and mountains and many an island have yet to feel the force of the Eldritch armies, the wide lowlands have largely been overrun the world over. Many of the last bastions of great civilization ride in city-states atop the back of Titan Gods.
Imesh is the Vast of pride, grandeur, the sun, self-improvement, and contest. It has sired both Lounar and Lounar II as worldly Avatar and Roguruur I and II as Rhinocerous Titans. Emperor Lounar II leads the fight against chaos from Urbitahn Keep built upn the back of the great Rhino. He is ever aided by the Metal Sires Kosa Day and Jack Moon. The rebirth of his brethren has made Imesh the most mighty of the Vast but has doubled the force against him.
Two Anathema contest the Pride of Lounar. Gristgrave: The
Undying is a being of death and undeath and brings pestilence and decay upon the land.
Ixris: The Unworldly is a patchwork being beyond simple human description. She toys with beings and maims, mutates, and tortures not for fun or purpose but with devastating indifference and infinite boredom.
Hambris Ibor is the Vast of wonder, thirst, knowledge, language, and ritual. Its Avatar is the huntress Evalia Shun. Shun finds peace in the hunt and can be found prowling the darkest jungles in search of chaos prey. She has little use for power or followers and does not rule her titan city, however it is said that she regularly returns to converse with the Titan Lazmikus the Ever Turtle and the Man of Metal Helmunk Ko whole resides in the grand city of Raspkatoon on Shell that sits atop the Ever Turtle’s back. For neigh on one hundred years Lazmikus has lain dormant on the border of the Grand Mesa of Oramba.
The Anathema of Hambris Ibor is Gramsay-Kor the vicious Horde Master of the Low
Plains Barbarians.
Lopouris is the Vast of magic, ley lines, resources, waste, and use. Im the Witch King is its aloof and uninterested Avatar. He resides in The Tower of Orbs high atop the back of Bazlikar the Three Headed Rat prowling the world in search of new wonder and power.
The Anathema of Lopouris is equally aloof to its Avatar. Zilgh: The Wandering Creator (Master of Muck) is known to create many a oozing, and devouring oddity in his seeping travels over bedrock and under soil but while his spawn provide many a danger it is said there is not truely malice in his heart and he sees his children as wondrous and beautiful souls tasked with the cleansing of the detritus of war.
Ayn is the Vast of distance, teleportation, the far star, trances, honesty, and telepathy. Her Avatar is Yamanda the Kind Traveler. Yamanda seeks to experience the wonder and good in the world. She named her Titan Omen: The God Elephant in honor of the first Titan of Aprazhury. Yamada chose to guide her Titan and pilot rather than rule over the sanctuary city upon its back. Hashikor: The City of Wonder is a repository for much old knowledge and wonder from the world before the dark. The city is ruled by council and democracy. The Sire of Metal Nisoka Ye sets upon the council and guides much of the preservation efforts in the city.
The Anathema of Ayn is Urgier the Wooden. A great gollum of branch and worked lumber that wields a great wooden staff. Perhaps, unintuitively, Urgier loathes all wood that lives and makes it a point of pride to burn forests and jungles as he subjugates lands and returns them to grim sand and charred coal.
Settu’un is the Vast of the dark, the unknown, fear, rumor, shadow, and serpents. Its avatar is Tableton: The Voice. Tableton has grand powers of persuasion but his alliances are always murky. He has built a massive kingdom on the spine of Dilkun the Megaserpent. The construction is punctuated by The Seven Forts of Vengance. Dilkun is known to travel in some of the darkest corners of the chaos lands unmolested. A feat that brings awe and concern to other Avatar. Tableton is greatly aided by the Architectural magnificence of Prax Subit the Man of Metal.
The Anathema of Settu’un Ziree is commonly known as the Chaos Sword Poet. He walks the lands looking for the thrill and beauty of battle and duel with little regard for sides or consequences.
Hallowra and Croma are called The Sister Vasts. Hallowra represents growth, harvest, bounty, plenty, luck, work, reincarnation, and cycles while Croma is queen of bravery, strength, fortune, single mindedness, and constitution. Hallowra is represented by the Avatar Omagone The
Organizer. Croma is represented by the Avatar Habloo The Bear. A great talking Black Bear and protector of the wilds. Omagone has taken on the mantle of driving and supporting both of The Sister Vast’s Titans Grib and Nodu: The Left and Right Auroch. These grand ox carry behind them a great wagon that houses the largest of the roving city states, the Free City of Kandoon. Grib also carries Eltir: The Castle of Plenty, abode of Omagone upon its back. The castle of Leaves is the home of the Man of Metal Jarvis Rey and sits upon the back of Nodu.
Hallowra’s Anatehma is Pike: The Black Blade. A powerful knight of dark art and grand strategy. Croma’s Anathems is Avora The Incomplete; a rumor of darkness on the border of worlds.
Hadigon is the Vast of confusion, chaos, uncertainty, and puzzles. His Avatar is Primzikk: the Planter, a great restorer of life that holds Urgier The Wooden as an arch nemesis. Primzikk travels the lands on the back of Zlag the Water Buffalo along with the Botanist Plastikor Spiver.
Hadigons Anathema is Nelvodun; a being of pure mischief and magic.
Ornigald is the Vast of the heavens, the nebula, the clouds, gray areas, and neutrality. Their Avatar and Titan Ayzar The Drakeborn and The Dragon Iscantour: The Glass War Bringer have not been accounted for in many ages.
Their Anathem, Asica The Beautiful lures the powerful to betrayal and servitude.
Pizorous is the Vast of the sea, the deep, rain, storms, swimming, and tempestuousness. Their Avatar is Slamanae: The Sea Queen. She travels under the oceans inside the Titan Whale Mima and the City of Seahome is her final sanctuary for the good hearted under the waves.
Pizorous’s Anathema is Mormella: The Hippo Headed, a bestial pirate that commands a dark fleet.
Moorngol is the Vast of the underworld, labyrinths, the lost and the found, and noises in the night. Their Avatar is Baligus: The Worshiped, a god priest that sees themselves as the embodiment of all thirteen vasts and head of the Church of the Thirteen. Noldon: The True Titan carries the Temple of Baligus the Risen Lord upon his shoulders. A multitude of birds carry edicts and dispatches to the scattered churches and temples of the thirteen from this lofty perch.
The Anathema of Moorngol is Dusk the Impenetrable Shadow heir to the throne of the Burned Man.
Astar is the Vast of winter, the poles, ice, the cold, petrification, and preservation. Their Avatar is the hulking Corsandur The Bright Vengance. Corsandur rides upon Chirmun: The Steed. While small by Titan standards the Horse stands 20 feet tall and the shoulder. Corsandur is ever crusading and endeavoring to end the threats of Chaos and aid those in need.
The Anathema of Astar is Jilidator: Pestilence Incarnate, a walking boil infested embodiment of disease and living rot.
Roulnus is the Vast of gluttony, thievery, greed, sloth, and lust. His Avatar Calzoryne Parc is the
Hedonist King of the Pleasure Palace Inied Anto atop the back of Ix: The Beetle. Seldom can they be bothered to engage in the affairs of the world that involve toil or strife.
Their Anathema is Ubo: The Ever-infant. A massive babe worshiped by cults and thought to work great magics at distance with its fickle mind.
